Woman’s body washes up at Dolphin Beach

Police are investigating after a woman’s body was found washed up near the Dolphin Beach Hotel.

Police are investigating after the body of a 50-year-old woman washed up near the Dolphin Beach Hotel in Milnerton last week.

The body was found at about 9am on Thursday August 17, according to Milnerton police spokeswoman Captain Nopaya Madyibi.

She said the woman’s brother had positively identified her.

Captain Madyibi did not respond to questions from Tabletalk about the woman’s cause of death or her identity.

Sunset Beach Neighbourhood Watch chairman Craig Ludwig discouraged the public from posting speculation online.

“At this point in time, SAPS are going through the necessary protocols to determine what happened. Until such a time, there is a statement from SAPS, I would like to encourage us all to be sympathetic towards the deceased and her family. It serves no purpose to post statements as to what you believe happened, or the details on how the lady was found, without understanding the circumstances or signs at the scene,” he said.
