It has become a tradition at Woodbridge Primary to have the Grade 7 children, who are approaching the end of their primary school stay, to read to the Grade Rs. “It is my favourite day of the year,” says school librarian Cheryl Swart. “The Grade 7s all behave so protectively to their Grade R partners. Everyone is excited. I trust that this helps to foster a life-long love of reading.” From left are Tyrese Nomdoe (with his back to the camera), Storm Damon (reading), Azania Noniwe, Sergio Tilley, Rouché Oliver (reading), Safia Kruger (hidden behind Rouché), Zainub de Oliveira (reading), Hope Mukendi, Tamia Boucher (reading) and Jayden Motlolometsi.
