Two more men from Kensington have been charged with robbing and shooting Table View biker Zelda van Niekerk.

Elton Abrahams, 22, and Michael Petersen, 34, were arrested on Friday at their homes in Kensington and held at the Maitland police station over the weekend.

Police spokesman Captain FC van Wyk confirmed the arrests which took place in Acre Road.

The men appeared in the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court on Monday where they said they would be applying for bail.

Their case has been postponed to Friday November 23.

Their arrests follow the arrest of Lucian Ackerman who was taken into custody just hours after Ms Van Niekerk was killed.

Hundreds of bikers flocked to Killarney Raceway on Saturday to attend Ms Van Niekerk’s memorial service.

Ms Van Niekerk was robbed on the side of the N1 highway and shot in the stomach on Friday September 28 (“Mass ride for slain biker,” Tabletalk, October 3).

Bikers said goodbye to her with a helmet salute around her hearse parked outside the clubhouse.

She will be laid to rest in a private service for family and friends this weekend. Bikers had pictures of Ms Van Niekerk’s face pasted on their windscreens and blue ribbons tied to their bikes. Blue was Ms Van Niekerk’s favourite colour.
