Knights on the ball…

Bothasig Knights may be running out of competition in the Cape Town Baseball Federation Major League after yet another convincing win at the weekend. This time around it was Athlone As on the receiving end of a 12-1 hiding in their home ground. Not even the experience of Athlone As pitcher, Dean Jacobs, could cause any upsets as the Knights strolled to their 18th win in as many matches this season. No other team stands any chance of troubling Bothasig at the top of the standings with their 36 points. Second placed Bellville Tygers are six points back and the only side on paper which has players capable of going toe-to-toe with the Knights. But they too have already lost twice to the Knights this season, which proves the superiority of the Bothasig side. Pictured is Bothasig star pitcher Jarred Elario, who again starred for his side in the mound, getting appreciation from teammate Dale Feldtman. Only three hits came off Elarios pitching with one walk while striking out nine Athlone batters.
