Teams came from as far as Belhar, Table View, Lavender Hill and Strandfontein to showcase their skills and talent on the diamond field at the Turfhall sports complex, in Athlone. At least 26 matches were played in the Cape Town Softball Association’s women’s Major League, first, second and third division on the hot Saturday afternoon.
Strandfontein Mets and Tornado’s gave softball a thumbs up after an exciting Cape Town Softball Association match at Turfhall sport complex a fortnight ago. Mets won 27-3. This past weekend, both the Mets and the Tornados lost to Blackheath and Battswood, respectively. Mavericks A celebrated a big 13-2 win over the Falcons on Saturday. Their B team, however, lost 16-7 to Saint Martins, in the Cape Town Softball Association’s Third Divisions.
