Elkanah riding crest of wave

During the school holidays, Elkanah House High School Grade 11 pupil Matthew Maxwell competed in a stand-up paddling (SUP) event, the SUP Durbs Pro 2016. He won the racing event in the junior division. In the surfing event, the SA Sup Surfing Championship, he finished second in the junior division, and qualified for the open men’s final, where he finished fourth. The other three competitors in the final are all members of the SA team competing in the world championships in Fiji in November.
