■ Tafelberg High School in Bothasig has had a 100 percent matric pass rate for the past 19 years. Principal Lionel Benecke said this is a remarkable achievement considering Tafelberg High is for pupils with learning disabilities. “The same curriculum as in the mainstream schools, is being taught and the same National Senior Certificate examinations are written. This is a testimony that with the correct educational help, barriers can be overcome and that nothing is too difficult,” he said. Matriculants at the back, from left, are Angus Kerr, Brandon Genade, and Stuart Purnell. In the middle are Brad Ayrton, Athraah Wadee, Dean Munrow, Lance George, Casandra Lochner, Danica du Toit and Ethan Rich. In front are Alberto de Gouveia, Hannah Petrich, Amy McPherson, Alex Petersen and Jeandre Stroobants
