A man was arrested with 3kg of tik in Sunningdale last week with an estimated street value of R90 000.
Table View SAPS spokesperson, Captain Adriana Chandler, said during their routine patrols on Friday December 7, Table View police officers noticed suspicious activities between two men parked in a car in the parking area of a retail shopping centre.
One of the men got out of the car with a large bag and was stopped by police. When they searched him, they found three smaller bags containing what appeared to be tik. They arrested him but the other man in the car sped off.
The 36-year-old man who was arrested is from Mitchell’s Plain and is also wanted for a 2015 case in Lentegeur for dealing in drugs.
The man was set to appear at the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Monday December 10 on charges of possession of drugs and dealing in drugs.
Table View police arrested a man shortly after hijacking a car at Dolphin Beach last week.
Captain Chandler said police received information on Saturday December 8 about a presumed hijacked car entering Dolphin Beach. Police waited for the suspect on the corners of West Coast and Blaauwberg roads and he was arrested a few minutes later.
The registration number of the car was tested and it was confirmed as a vehicle hijacked in Parow a few days earlier.
The suspect, a 27-year-old man from Belhar, was arrested and charged for being in possession of a hijacked vehicle. He was handed over to Parow police station.
