The body of a 28-year-old man was found in the boot of his white VW Polo in Table View last week.
According to Table View police spokeswoman Captain Adriana Chandler, the man’s girlfriend found his body at 5pm on Thursday May 7.
“It is alleged that after he dropped his girlfriend at her place of work in the morning, he went to his place of work in Blaauwberg Road. At 4pm when he did not answer his phone, she contacted a relative to pick her up,” Captain Chandler said.
Police say the girlfriend managed to track the car to 66 Blaauwberg Road in Table View, with no sign of her boyfriend.
“Once the spare key was collected and they returned to the vehicle, the discovery was made.
“An inquest/murder docket was registered and will be investigated by Table View Police,” Captain Chandler said.
Table View Community Police Forum chairman David Harris has asked anyone who saw something to come forward.
“Blaauwberg Road is one of our busiest roads, and someone must have seen something. I know we are in lockdown at the moment, but the victim’s car was standing for a while at that spot and there must be a witness.
“Right now, we are all just waiting for the coroner’s report to find out exactly what happened.”
