Rising from the depths

■ Last week’s storm dislodged the remains of the Commodore II’s wooden hull and swept it upstream where it knocked into the already frail wooden bridge. Regarded as a piece of Milnerton’s maritime history, there have been talks about preserving the wreck and moving it to higher ground (“Wreck’s future in balance,” Tabletalk, November 2, 2016). But it seems mother nature has other ideas.
