A young boy from Joe Slovo has gone missing and police and community members are on the lookout for any whereabouts of the teen.
Stella Nkaza Bohinza, 13, was last seen by his mother on Friday morning around 6am. He lives in Joe Slovo with his mother Mado and father Stanley.
According to Constable Yolandie Jantjies of the Milnerton SAPS’ Family violence, Child protection and Sexual offences (FCS) Unit, the missing boy is autistic and can’t speak.
“We’ve spoken to the family and they gave us a brief description of him and about his condition. We urge people to be on the lookout but we know that it will be difficult for people to get information from him because he doesn’t speak. So people must approach him carefully should they happen to see him,” said Constable Jantjies.
Ward 4 councillor, Wandisile Ngeyi, urged parents to be very vigilant, especially around this time of year. “We hear of child abductions and missing children, so it’s very important that parents always know where their kids are.
“The roads and beaches are very busy this time of year, so that is another thing to be wary of,” he said.
Constable Jantjies said they had received a few tips from residents in the neighbourhood and were following up on those leads but the search continues.
“Stella was last seen wearing a green T-shirt, brown jacket, blue jeans and brown slippers.
