Tabletalk celebrated it’s 30th birthday with a special breakfast to mark the occasion last week.
The breakfast was held at The Blue Peter Hotel in Bloubergstrand on Wednesday October 25. The guests included city councillors, advertisers, leaders of community organisations and the people who make every issue possible.
Chantel Erfort, the editor of Cape Community Newspapers, which publishes Tabletalk, and Sandy Naude, the CEO of Africa Community Media, welcomed the guests and thanked everyone for making it out on a cold and rainy Wednesday morning.
Ms Erfort said the breakfast was a “wonderful opportunity to get to know the people we write about” and that putting together the souvenir edition had
“given us the chance to celebrate the stories, people, places and changes that defined the past 30 years.”
She said a community newspaper was a “deeply intimate record” of a community’s history”I’m humbled by the opportunity to be the custodian of a paper which is as loved and valued by its readers as Tabletalk is.”
