The traffic fines roadshow by the City of Cape Town’s legal services department and the traffic service will be at the Cape Town Civic Centre starting today, Monday April 15 to Wednesday April 17 between 8am and 2pm.
A team consisting of administrative staff, prosecutors and traffic officers will be on the Concourse Level of the civic centre to assist motorists with their fines and or warrants of arrests. Â
Mayoral committee member for corporate services, Sharon Cottle, said: “The roadshow is a one-stop-shop for motorists so that they can plead for leniency by making representations to the prosecutors for a reduced fine; to enquire about traffic fines and warrants in general as well as to settle their outstanding fines.”
Motorists must bring their identity documents as well as a copy of the fines for which they would like to have the amounts reduced.
There will be no blanket reduction, but the prosecutor will assess each case individually.
