Water mains burst

Tabletalk reader William McIntosh captured these images on his dashcam, taken next to Braselton Road, Sunningdale, on Tuesday June 28, at around 2pm. According to the City of Cape Town’s mayoral committee member for utility services, Ernest Sonnenberg, a building contractor damaged one of the water mains. “Water mains in the area are arranged in a ring feed system meaning that once the burst was isolated, supply to the area could be maintained. Some residents, however, may have experienced lower water pressure,” he said.
