With the country still dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic, many sporting activities including running have had to take a backseat.
Runners are still, however, allowed to jog while adhering to the regulations put to place to stop the spread of the virus.
Peter Chong from Blouberg went an extra mile as he used the festive period to run for a good cause.
Starting on Christmas day, Chong ran 12km each day for 12 days to raise funds for the Fallen Angels Pet Rescue. Last week he ran the last leg, completing 144km.
He says the idea came in his dream as a message from God to have a run for a charity organisation. “The charity was Fallen Angels Pet Rescue which was perfect as I love paws and our running club didn’t managed to raise a lot of funds for their cause in 2020,” he said.
