Union-Milnerton’s run in the Western Province Club Rugby Sevens competition ended with the side taking part in the Bowl section in Bellville at the weekend. Uni-Mil’s last game was a Bowl 7-24 semi-final loss to Goodwood. They found themselves on the other side of the main cup after a 10-19 loss to UWC in the last 16. It was False Bay RFC who waited for them in the quarter-final of the Shield section and they lost that encounter 10-17 to book a date with Goodwood. Uni-Mil had booked their spot in the knockout stages of the competition after impressing in the round robin stages, winning eight of their 11 fixtures. In Pool A, they were also in the company of cup finalists, Tygerberg and False Bay.
