Bosmansdam High School is still basking in glory following the success of the matric class of 2015.
Principal Danie Human expressed his satisfaction with theirresults, saying they had maintained the Class of 2014’s pass rate of 98. 63%.
More pupils than ever before obtained A-aggregates, improving on the benchmark set by the Class of 2006, he said. Of the 149 pupils who wrote the exams, 147 passed.
The top achiever was Ilse Brookes, with six distinctions and an average of 86 5%. She follows in the footsteps of her sister, Elenette, who was also the school’s dux in 2012. Ilse will be studying BA Languages at Stellenbosch University.
Kaylyn van As was placed second, with an average of 85 3%, and will also study at Maties towards a BSc with mathematics and computer science as majors.
In the third place, was Shane Klaase, a Western Province chess player, who was narrowly pipped by Ilse and Kaylyn. He obtained six distinctions, which included maths and physical science. Shane was awarded a Sasol scholarship and will also become a Matie. He will be studying chemical engineering. Eight pupils obtained A aggregates.
