A house was destroyed by fire at Clarendon Street in Brooklyn on Monday, November 22.
Fire crews from Brooklyn and Milnerton rushed to the scene just after 2pm, according to Fire and Rescue Service spokesman Jermaine Carelse.
The fire was extinguished just before 3pm and the cause remains unknown, said Mr Carelse.
No injuries or death were reported but a woman had been treated for a panic attack at the scene, he said.
Ward 55 councillor Fabian Ah-Sing said he would contact the family to offer some relief.
A resident, Susanna Naude, said the family had lost “everything” in the fire and she asked the public to donate shoes, clothes, food and toiletries to the fire victims.
