Blaauwberg motorists may experience some delays on some roads in the area from today, Wednesday October 26, as the City starts resurfacing.
The work is planned for weekdays only, with partial lane closures in place where necessary, from 7.30am until 5pm, to limit the impact on road users.
Roads that will be affected are Stadler Road, between Sir David Baird Drive and Linde Road; Batavia Road, between Linde Road and Andre Foster Street; Biccard Street, between Andre Foster Street and Stadler Road; Andre Foster Street between Biccard Street and the end of the road; as well as Beresford Road, between Biccard Street and Stadler Road.
The City’s Mayoral committee member for urban mobility, Rob Quintas, is urging the community to cooperate with City officials on the ground while the project is ongoing.
“We would like to resurface portion of the road to provide residents in the area with a safe and smooth road surface,” said Quintas.
He said measures are in place to direct traffic during construction, which is expected to continue until Wednesday November 16, pending unforeseen delays and bad weather.
