A 35-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were arrested after being caught with a stolen car, along with burglary loot and the car owner’s dog, in Joe Slovo, say police.
On Wednesday July 20, Milnerton police were notified about the theft of a black Kia Picanto – with the car owner’s dog still inside – following a burglary at a house in Goodwood earlier in the day.
Aided by the City’s Metro Police and some security services, Milnerton police officers had located the car parked on the corner of Freedom Way and Democracy Way, with the man and woman sitting inside, said Milnerton police spokeswoman Captain Nopaya Madyibi.
“Stolen goods such as an Xbox with the controls, the complainant’s driver’s licence and takkies were found in the car. And the dog was reunited with its owners,” she said.
The pair were charged with theft of a motor vehicle and possession of stolen property.
